Notes

'Playing For Keeps' is spliced from Take 7 (0:00-2:37) and the ending of Take 18.

'Paralyzed' was attempted after 'Love Me' but the band couldn't work the arrangement properly and the song was abandoned after a long rehearsal and only three takes.

'I Need You So' was the next song to be tried after 'Paralyzed' but the song didn't really work any better than 'Paralyzed' and was also abandoned, this time at the rehearsal stage. 'Paralyzed' was successfully recorded the following day and 'I Need You So' was eventually recorded on February 23 1957.

According to the Memphis Recording Service book and CD set Elvis: Studio Sessions '56 - The Complete Recordings, Elvis also apparently tried out 'I Almost Lost My Mind' at this session too.

The master of 'How's The World Treating You' is supposed to be take 7, but there is a splice at 1:27 that isn't documented. It is unknown which other take is used for the spliced master, or if Take 7 is just edited.

In May 2022, Rockhurst Auctions offered several items from the files of the late Trude Forsher. Without a doubt, the most interesting one has to be the apparently unpublished written account of Elvis' September 1956 sessions at Radio Recorders. This was written by Forsher herself, and it was intended to be published by "Look" magazine. This has to be one of the most interesting items to surface in the Elvis World for quite a long time. Scans are shown below.

In March of 2007, Sony decided to go through all of Elvis' masters. They retransferred everything and remastered all tracks including repairing as many clicks, pops, bad edits and dropouts as they could. They have used these newly mastered recordings on their new releases since 2007 including budget soundtracks, Legacy releases, the 30 disc Complete Elvis Presley Masters collection and the Franklin Mint package.

Thanks to Josep Rulló Guardia for providing scans for the Trude Forsher article on the Phoenix Elvis forum.
