The second part of the matrix numbering system consists of the numerical sequence from 0001 to 9999. If RCA run out of numbers into the 10,000 series they switched the second and third position in the first part. Thus HO7W-0808 means in reality H7OW-10808.
If they run out of numbers after 19999 so to speak they would switch the third and the fourth position to begin with 20,000.
Although the United States' January 1988 release of Essential Elvis - The First Movies (LP = 6738-1-R and CD = 6738-2-R) is listed as source for the first release of the movie version of 'Treat Me Nice' with drum intro, and 'Jailhouse Rock' (male overdubs - H2WB 6780), the album was in fact first released as just Essential Elvis in Europe in December 1986 (LP = PL 89979) and February 1987 (CD = PD 90250).
Although the United States' February 1989 release of Stereo '57 - Essential Elvis Volume 2 (9589-1-R LP and 9599-2-R CD) is listed as source for the first release of the alternate master of 'I Beg Of You' (January 13 1957), this album was in fact first released in Europe in January 1989 (LP = PL 90250 and CD = PD 90250).
