Backup vocal overdubs (January 2 1974) were not
used on If You Talk In Your Sleep.
You Asked Me To and If You Talk In
Your Sleep were remixed when used on the '70's
Box' and the BMG 2000 release of 'Promised Land'.
Elvis can be heard singing a part of Find
Out What's Happening before Take 4 of Your
Love's Been A Long Time Coming on 'Essential
Elvis Volume 5', but this is edited in from before
Take 6 of If You Talk In Your Sleep.
If You Talk In Your Sleep has a longer
fade out on 'Elvis' Gold Records Volume 5'.
The complete unedited overdubbed master of
If You Talk In Your Sleep can be found on
the Venus bootleg release "Unedited Masters
- Stax 1973".
This session was cut short as Elvis leaves when
he realises there is no food available.
In March of 2007, Sony decided to go through all of Elvis' masters. They retransferred everything and remastered all tracks including repairing as many clicks, pops, bad edits and dropouts as they could. They have used these newly mastered recordings on their new releases since 2007 including budget soundtracks, 'Legacy' releases, the 30 disc 'Complete Elvis Presley Masters' collection and the Franklin Mint package.
Thanks to Adrian V Stokes regarding the edited
versions of songs on the BMG Ariola set of 'Definitive'
albums.
