The undubbed masters on 'Our Memories Of Elvis'
weren't really the pure undubbed masters. They
were the fully overdubbed or regular masters but
with certain instruments and backing vocal channels
removed or stripped down.
The count-in for Take 9 of Find Out What's
Happening can be found in the dialogue after
Take 8 on FTD's 'Raised On Rock' Classic Album.
Elvis can be heard singing a few lines of Wasted
Years before Take 9 of I've Got A Thing
About You Baby.
Take 14 of I've Got A Thing About You Baby
on 'Essential Elvis Volume 5' has part of the
Take 6 Rehearsal edited in before the take.
On 'Unsurpassed Masters Volume 4' (Disc 15) I've
Got A Thing About You Baby is released both
as a 3-channel mix (Binaural) and as an instrumental
track with just the two instrumental channels.
This gives the impression that the vocals were
overdubbed, but this is incorrect as slight bleeding
of the vocal track reveals how this mix was done.
Some of the Rough Mixes found on FTD's 'Raised
On Rock' and 'Good Times' Classic Album are longer
than the final Masters.
In March of 2007, Sony decided to go through all of Elvis' masters. They retransferred everything and remastered all tracks including repairing as many clicks, pops, bad edits and dropouts as they could. They have used these newly mastered recordings on their new releases since 2007 including budget soundtracks, 'Legacy' releases, the 30 disc 'Complete Elvis Presley Masters' collection and the Franklin Mint package.
