An edited (2:19) version of Kiss Me Quick,
with omitted parts of verses (First verse - "Cause
tomorrows can be so uncertain, Love can fly and
leave just hurting, Kiss me quick because I love
you so. Kiss me quick and make my heart go crazy,
Sigh that sigh and whisper oh so low"), was
released in 1987 on the BMG Ariola release 'The
Definitive Love Album'.
Kiss Me Quick was released without backing
vocals on the 1980 1st pressing of the German
RCA release 'Elvis Forever Volume 2' (with matrixnumber
CL 42853). This was done by eliminating one of
the stereo channels. When RCA discovered the mistake
they made a new LP master with new matrix number
CPL 42853.
In March of 2007, Sony decided to go through all of Elvis' masters. They retransferred everything and remastered all tracks including repairing as many clicks, pops, bad edits and dropouts as they could. They have used these newly mastered recordings on their new releases since 2007 including budget soundtracks, 'Legacy' releases, the 30 disc 'Complete Elvis Presley Masters' collection and the Franklin Mint package.
Thanks to Adrian V Stokes regarding the edited
versions of songs on the BMG Ariola set of 'Definitive'
albums.
Thanks to Rogier van Luyken for information regarding
Take 4 of Kiss Me Quick being on 'Elvis
Presley - The Dutch Collection'.
