The outtake of I Got a Woman
released on 'Today, Tomorrow & Forever' is spliced
from the intro of the already released 'Platinum'
take (0:00-0:03, "I got a woman") and
the second half (0:59-2:26, "way 'cross town"...end)
of previously unreleased take.
'(In)Complete' in this context means
that the take is incomplete because the rest was
erased by a recording engineer, when the tape was
reused for sessions with another artist. What is
left of this session is presented perfectly on the
'Follow That Dream' release of 'Elvis Presley'.
In March of 2007, Sony decided to go through all of Elvis' masters. They retransferred everything and remastered all tracks including repairing as many clicks, pops, bad edits and dropouts as they could. They have used these newly mastered recordings on their new releases since 2007 including budget soundtracks, 'Legacy' releases, the 30 disc 'Complete Elvis Presley Masters' collection and the Franklin Mint package.
